Militaria Wanted
Militaria Mysteries

Colin Macgregor Stevens is researching Canadian military vehicles and their markings. seaforth72 (at) gmail.com

Wanting the following items is one thing, being able to afford them is another! This wish list is not complete of course.

I am focusing on militaria used by members of my family, but also have special interest in jeeps, the Welbike, BSA folding airborne bicycles, vehicle markings (flags, decals/transfers, stencils, manuals/orders), as well as WWII Canadian and British military sniping.

WANTED

  1. Ferret Scout Car camouflage painting instructions for Canadian Army. There appear to be several versions and I would like all, as I am writing a book about the Ferret, have a web page on them and am restoring one.
  2. Vehicle Flag Staffs & mounting bases  I especially want WWII Canadian types as used in WWII, both generic flag-staff and 2nd Div type with top consisting of "C" and two vertical bars inside it, British Airborne, British Combined Operations (Commando) and 79th Armoured Division.  I also need the bases for attaching these flag staffs to the vehicles. I have about 33 such pennants, swallow-tails and flags now, mostly WWII Canadian - including General Crerar's jeep flag from his ADC (shown below along with photos of Crerar with one flying from his jeep).
  3. Flag GOC First Cdn Army - Crerar's jeep flag.jpg (58384 bytes)Crerar & Monty with jeep flag GOC First Cdn Army.jpg (121749 bytes)Crerar signing doc on jeep hood Flag flying.jpg (154201 bytes)Flagstaff, Cdn for MV.jpg (62348 bytes)

Eventually I shall put on new seat cushions, tires & tubes. Photo shows my jeep towing a 6 Pounder anti-tank gun.
