Apeldoorn in Holland is one of the battle honours of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. On May 8, 2005, there was a huge parade to commemorate the 60th anniversary of VE Day - Victory in Europe Day, May 8, 1945, when Nazi Germany surrendered.

The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada were represented by veterans, Lieutenant Colonel Blair McGregor, a guard and the pipes and drums.

A nice touch was that the Seaforth Highlanders of Holland, a commemorative band, was integrated with the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada pipes and drums for this parade.
