I am on the far left of the photo. The photo was taken in April, about 1967.
Contrary to the photo caption, I won the top prize for my Spitfire model (bottom
left in photo). The prize was a plastic model kit of Voss' Fokker Tri-plane.
I enjoyed my time there and recall the target shooting with Lee Enfield C No.
7 .22" rifles and air recognition training which I did well at. They would
not let cadets who wore glasses take flying training. Pity.
I cannot recall which school our cadet meetings were held, but the back of
the clipping refers to air cadets meeting at Prince Arthur School. I do remember
that Bob Ring talked me into joining the squadron. Thank you Bob! I'm now
working with air cadets as an officer.
